Terms of Service

Last updated: October 2026

1. Scope

These terms of service apply to the use of the iOS app 'Prepora' and the associated website prepora.de, operated by Martin Rost.

2. Service Description

Prepora is an app for personal crisis preparedness. It enables encrypted storage of documents, management of checklists and creation of emergency profiles. The app does not constitute medical, legal or governmental advice.

3. Free and Premium Usage

The basic version of Prepora is free and includes 5 documents and 1 crisis scenario. The premium version offers extended features. In app versions up to 1.0.x, it is offered as a monthly or annual subscription; subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled through your Apple ID settings. From version 1.1, it is available as a one-time purchase (“Prepora Premium”) without a subscription, which can be shared via Apple Family Sharing. Existing subscriptions remain valid after updating to version 1.1 until they are cancelled. The prices shown in the Apple App Store apply. All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store.

4. Data Security

The user is responsible for the security of their password and recovery key. If both access methods are lost, encrypted data cannot be recovered. Prepora assumes no liability for data loss due to user negligence.

5. Limitation of Liability

Prepora serves as personal preparedness tool and does not replace professional advice. The provided checklists and guides are based on publicly available recommendations (e.g., BBK, FEMA). No guarantee is made for completeness or timeliness.

6. Medical Disclaimer

Prepora is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. The medication and health data stored in the app (medication list, emergency profile, blood type, allergies, medical conditions) serve solely for personal preparedness and self-organization. They do not replace a medical history, diagnosis or treatment, nor any professional medical advice. For health complaints or questions about medications, dosages or interactions, please consult a doctor or your local pharmacy. In emergencies, call your local emergency number (112 in Europe, 911 in the US).

7. Termination

You can stop using Prepora at any time by deleting the app. Premium subscriptions can be cancelled through your Apple ID settings; already paid periods remain active. The one-time purchase “Prepora Premium” (from version 1.1) has no term; there are no recurring payments.

8. Changes

We reserve the right to modify these terms of service as needed. Material changes will be communicated via the app or by email.

9. Governing Law

The laws of the Federal Republic of Germany apply. Place of jurisdiction is Kaiserslautern.
